There are many children in our world who are sensitive in nature and find it difficult when around children who are controlling, teasing and bullying. SUGGESTIONS Spirituality - tell the story of your child and their birth, his/her many talents and gifts that are growing within . Talk about their gifts i.e. the wonderful things that can be made with their hands. Help them to realise that the world is full of people who have grown their gifts so that they can be used to help Activities -Shy children often benefit from drama and speech therapy. Also creative movement or competitions where they have to interact with different types of children. Tae Kwon Do, Tai Chi and other martial arts are also helpful for building confidence. Belonging - where does your child belong, tell the story of their place in the family, the community and the world and bring a sense of belonging to them. Love - impress upon children that the world that they live in is a changing world and that they too can and will have to change and grow. Always there is One who creates this world with love and they are part of that world of love. Use the words 'I love you' frequently to them. |
